Ben Watts

Chairman

I am honoured to be the Chairman and a manager of Nailsea Junior Football Club, a club I have played for, and now my son and daughter play for.

I love the ethos of NJFC and that it plays such an important role in our community. I am looking forward to exciting times ahead both on and off the pitch. Huge credit to Matt Hicks, previous Chairman, for his dedication over the years and I am looking forward to seeing the growth of girls football within the club over the next few years and to continue to get the club to think and work collectively for its ‘one club vision’.

Sharon Taylor

Welfare Officer

My son first started playing for Nailsea Juniors in 2020 and it was the best decision he could have made. I didn’t expect my child to settle into a club  so quickly; not only improving his football skills at a rapid pace but also his social skills with new friends he built created from across our local community. Watching him grow and recognising that this club was becoming a huge part of all of our lives. When the opening for Joint Vice Chair came up a couple of  seasons ago,  I was keen to get involved and help shape the club moving forward and continue all of the good work the committee members and coaches do. Since then, my daughter also plays and the club is still a huge part of our lives as a family. This season I’ve also taken on the very important role as the Welfare Office for NJFC.

I feel extremely passionately about our club ethos and the encouragement given to the children and how inclusive our community club is and the importance we put on our Code of Conduct and Safeguarding policies.

As part of my role I want to ensure Nailsea Juniors is continuously improving and that the club  remains true to our ethos and continues to be a big part of our local community.

Simon Thorne

Vice Chairman

My son joined Nailsea Juniors when he was 5 and within a couple of weeks I had joined the coaching team! I’m now lead coach for the Under 10’s and really enjoy being part of a very well run, social, grassroots club. Since then my daughter and wife have also joined as a player and coach respectively. We really are a Nailsea Juniors family!

I love coaching and watching the players confidence and abilities improve. I’m a firm believer in challenging them to be the best they can be whilst making sure they have fun.

I have recently joined the committee to support the development of the club and improve opportunities for children in the local area.

Dave Wood

Club Secretary

Hi, I’m Dave.

I got involved with Nailsea Juniors because of the joy my son gets from playing here. He absolutely loves it — the football, the club atmosphere, and especially the friendships he’s made since joining three years ago. Seeing how much it means to him made me want to give something back and support the club however I could.

I’ll be honest — football was never really my sport. I always enjoyed kicking a ball about, but I wasn’t exactly a star player! So, while I don’t come from a football background, I’ve come to really appreciate what the game — and especially this club — offers to young people.

In 2025, I was asked if I’d take on the role of Club Secretary. I didn’t hesitate. Since stepping in, I’ve been blown away by the dedication and passion of the Coaches, Managers, and Committee members. Everyone gives their time and energy to make sure the kids have a fun, safe, and supportive environment to enjoy their football and grow as individuals.

Nailsea Juniors really is something special. It’s more than just a football club — it’s a community. I’m proud and genuinely honored to be part of it and to help in whatever way I can.

Stuart Mason

Club Social Secretary

I’m really excited to be the social secretary for the 25/26 season and working with the fantastic committee members to make this season another successful one on and off the pitch. The role that the club plays within the community is such an important one and to be part of that is an honour.

I’ve got some exciting plans for social events this year so hopefully with the support of the club we can have an eventful and enjoyable year raising money to help support this wonderful club.

Lisa Pye

Player Registration Secretary

I’m pleased to confirm that I’ve taken on the position of Registration Secretary for the club while continuing in my role as a coach at Nailsea Juniors Football Club. As a parent of two children who both play for Nailsea Juniors, I’m passionate about supporting the club in every way I can.

Nailsea Juniors plays an important role in our local community, providing a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where children can grow both on and off the pitch. I’ve taken on the Registration Secretary role because I want to support the vision of the club and help it run behind the scenes.

It’s a privilege to be part of a club that does so much for young people in the area, and I look forward to continuing to contribute both as a coach and now in an administrative capacity.

Angharad Brailsford

External Communications Officer

We moved to Nailsea in 2018, and when our son was old enough to join Nailsea Junior Football Club we signed him up which has been the best decision for both him and us as we have made some amazing friends – the football community has been excellent.

My husband is now coaching for the U8’s so I decided I would do my part for the club and become the External Communications Officer.

Josie Kerrigan

Club Treasurer

I moved to Nailsea with my husband in 2016 and we have two sons. My eldest son joined Nailsea Juniors as an Under 6 player in 2022 and my husband is one of the coaches for the year group as well!

Both have loved their time with NJFC so far and I wanted to help contribute to the clubs continued success.

I am a chartered Accountant and work as a Finance Manager.
